Out of 160 submissions, The Scylla Group is proud to have been awarded the Best Editing Experience for our work With Rubbermaid Commercial Products. The jury stated that our CMS solution had an “amazing use of content blocks, content options and preview functionality” and “an impressive array of customisations.” We are honored to be recognized among the amazing talent within the Umbraco community for our hard work.
The Scylla Group developed an intuitive content editing experience for multiple users with diverse needs, from custom page creation to eCommerce integration. Utilizing row based WYSIWYG editing with stacked content, reusable content blocks, contextual editing and custom HTML overrides for programmers, we were able to create a powerful system that is intuitive and works how content managers work.

Additionally, we were nominated for Best New Tech using Umbraco.
We created an Alexa voice skill that utilizes a headless Umbraco CMS combined with a “search-engine” approach to determine results based on prompted questions. Instead of writing out cumbersome code and exhaustive amounts of grammatical nuances for a rudimentary dialog, our proprietary tool allows for rapid development and enhanced performance of Alexa skills. We used a Lucene scoring model inside of an Examine index to weight positive and negative keywords which allows Alexa to act more as a search engine than a Q and A bot, and Umbraco’s back end allows creators to develop and manage skills with ease.
